His comparison of active vs. passive energy efficiency is incredibly intriguing and well written. It draws you in to make you wonder how to do it yourself, to which he follows with the answers to every question you could have, be it financing or practicality. Whether you are in the market or not, Green Homes is a must read to get ahead of the curve of the future of residential design.
Tristan's book is not only incredibly well written, but makes me want to use it as a guide for how to design my future home to be energy efficient and use renewable technologies. It also makes me more conscious about everything regarding my current place. Tristan is really eloquent and I genuinely recommend this book to everyone.
I like the way the author compared and contrasted different approach on building a sustainable housing. Although there are some time specific events that are not relevant anymore, like the US stance on the Paris climate change compact.
An intriguing subject that MacHale approaches in a completely unique manner. His writing style and word choice really bring out the message. A changing world with lots to lose, this book offers us with the perfect step-by-step guide on how to help save our planet.
