Cally Blackman is a writer and lecturer with degrees in Fashion Design and History of Art, and an MA in History of Dress from the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. This is a quality book about fashion illustration,but some glaring omissions like Tony Viramontesare hard to overlook.
I did a whole theme of fashion books and this just added to it just lovely
Love this book. I saw it in the store and then found it cheaper via Amazon of course. Anyhow, this is a fairly sizable book, meaning it's got quite a few pages. It is also wonderfully illustrated with tons of examples of how fashion has changed over the years. This is a wonderful read for anyone who follows fashion as it gives you a great sense of how we got to where we are in today's more modern trends. The text is even entertaining for me, which says a lot for myself ;-)
So much creativity displayed over a hundred years. Inspirational. Beautiful, fun and educational. A real delight
My niece loved this book for her birthday, but may have been a tad old for her. She turned 12 and loves fashion.
beautiful illustrations -it made me wish that it was still a time when one could dress up without appearing slightly mad. i used to like my hats and gloves and suits and evening gowns!

Mostly nicely picked, beautiful fashion photos with small text inserts that describe each of them. I was expecting a bit more text describing the fashion decades. Overall a nice book to have and reopen for inspiration.
