I loved reading this wonderful reminder that positivity is always the way to go! My favorite chapter is Chapter 2 - Four Truths. I loved the author's perspective on reminding us that what others think of us is none of our business, that we don't have to worry about those who have wronged us, that everything happens for a reason, and that there is no value in worrying!I particularly enjoy the author's realistic positive perspective. Even though we are all striving for positivity, we live in a contrasting environment and we have the ability to experience contrast - this means that negative thoughts, experiences, and people are always a part of our reality. It's all about learning to choose the positive mindset, independently of our contrasting reality!I love the relatable tone of this easy to read book! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to practice having a positive mindset!

I'm a fan of Paul Brodie's books! I read his book Motivation 101 and was excited to see that he followed up with the book Positivity Attracts. The thing I most appreciate about Mr. Brodie's books is that he is not trying to be anything more than who he is. He openly and freely shares his struggles and journey, minus research and noise, so his readers feel less alone in their own struggles and can begin reflecting on how they might make changes. As Mr. Brodie states in his introduction, if the sharing of his journey helps just one person, that's what matters most to him, and I feel this throughout his books. In Positivity Attracts, Mr. Brodie helped me to reflect on my own positive/negative thinking, but two stand out chapters for me were "Disconnect" and "Circle of Trust." In "Disconnect", Mr. Brodie shared the power of turning off technology every so often to practice tuning in. Through sharing his own 24 hour experience, I could definitely see why this is something I need to do more often to improve my positive thinking. He reminded me that I really do miss writing things using a pen and notepad. And in "Circle of Trust" he put into perspective the difference between the superficial "like" one receives on Facebook versus the depth of having a few really good friends that have your back and are willing to hang with you through thick and thin. Again, just a good reminder of what's really important in life.I highly recommend this short read for anyone that needs a jolt of positivity and a reminder of how to include it in their own lives.

Ask yourself: are you a positive person or a negative person?Positivity expert and author Paul Brodie gets right into the heart of the matter from the get-go in his new bestseller “Positivity Attracts”. In this book Paul asks readers to question the real meaning of what it is to be a really positive person [as opposed to someone who walks around all day in a negative state]. The first “positive” thing I noticed about this book is the ease at which it is to read. The author has used a friendly tone to communicate with readers as if you were siting right there sharing a cup of java together. This maintains interest throughout the book and keeps the pages flipping.in the first lesson on Positivity [Chapter 1: the message is clear — positivity attracts and negativity repels. Chapter 2 focuses in on the Four Truths that Paul has live by and are what he teaches to others. There truths are simple in their nature but powerful in application. The author explains the 4 truths in a simple description of each [No spoilers here; read the book if you want to know what the truths are]. Chapter 3 on “Servant Leadership” is about giving back to others; this is a vital piece in the book because the world needs more of this so that we can live a more harmonious lifestyle. In chapter 4 we learn to look at our live through a Negative vs. Positive perspective. Once again Paul uses real-world examples and illustrations based on his experience to teach people how to do this. Chapter 5 is a great piece of work because it focuses in on the baggage that we keep in our lives. Emotional baggage can be extremely harmful, creates stress and keeps negativity alive and well in the body. Chapter 6 “Why Do We Fall” gives readers a look at how to handle setbacks, Paul uses the word RISE as an acronym that stands for: Resilient, Inspire, Selfless and Energy.Chapter 7 and perhaps my favorite “Fight The Dark Side” is about becoming victorious in life by facing the negativity inside of you. From there we move into delegating our fears and worries and then learning to disconnect by turning off technology for peace of mind and stillness. I love this one and is definitely a lesson you can’t afford to pass up on. In Chapter 10 “Circle of Trust”, this is about appreciating the people closest to us that we share our lives with. They are our friends, family and loved ones. The conclusion of each chapter ends in a series of questions that challenges readers to ask questions about their own positive state. Paul discussed the traits needed to become a servant leader and, he backs it up with his own experience. This book is a great little gem that gets you really thinking about the positivity in your life. Well worth the price of a cup of coffee and you can read it in one sitting which makes it perfect for those waits at the doctors office or if you are stuck in traffic. What I find is that it's always great to have little books like this handy because they can add so much value to your day when your mind is give too much of an opportunity to wander and get lost. By picking up “Positivity Attracts” you can get some great tips and strategies from a real educator who knows what it is like to “Fight the Dark Side” and stay triumphant.

Paul Brodie speaks from experience, which makes his advice even more potent. He's not academic espousing theory, but a practitioner, both in business and in life. That he has had so many struggles, including brutal bullying, and weight and health issues, and remains positive and optimistic is testimony to the strength of his message. Where others are bitter and vindictive, the author is kind, generous and caring.Being positive is something he works at,and urges us to do too. As he says wisely, "Our greatest battle will always be against ourselves and winning that battle will be the greatest victory."I loved so much about this book, especially his section on The Four Truths, and his emphasis on forgiving the wrongs of the past.Paul's philosophy that everything happens for a reason, is made more powerful because he shows you how he has transcended negativity to create positivity - I his own life, and those of others.Positivity Attracts is short, simple, and sage. Great title, it's why I picked up the book, and I'm happy I did.
