I was so hooked on book one extreme risk that I just had to know what was going to happen in book 2 and it is WELL worth your money to buy this book you will not regret it. I don't know where to start of how much I loved this book it has so much character to it so much different emotions, it's really sentimental but devastating, loving but harsh, funny but serious, so many different parts and tragedies in the main characters stories it just draws you in and you keep wanting more it's super relatable. (Spoiler Alert) I actually have a friend that's illiterate and I like how she touched on the subject in one of the main characters and showed the struggle he faced with it and how they have to learn different that was really a great part in the book but I'm a sucker for love and this book has tons of it, it was just phenomenal from beginning to end.
This review is meant for both Skater boy and My Skater boy by Kay Manis.I liked both books which completed the story of Hindley and Rory. There was a steady story line full of painful past, cruelty both phisical and emotional, understated family connections, personal growth despite insecurities, villains, love, naivity, drama, understanding, misunderstanding and so much more wrapped up in a really enjoyable, entertaining manner. Both Hindley and Rory are complex characters but they have their flaws of course. Somtimes I wanted just to shake one or both of them saying 'Hey, what are you doing....?' But the author gave us the opportunity through the dual POVs to understand where their actions came from, how these actions arose from their personality. They both have their pasts to overcome which have left marks on their souls. Two issues have left unresolved at the end which is a pity but I understand these topics lost their significance in Hindley and Rory's life. I really liked the epilogue, liked what the couple achieved, what they established together.Please mind the warning in the description: this is not a standalone book. You have to read both to finish the story. This is no cliffhanger, the first book just ends. No solutions, no halfway-measures, no happy for now. You have been warned. I enjoyed it so I recommend.
First off, Kay Manis ripped my heart out. It's ok cause she put it back together again. This book was great. I love that it brought out to light a lot of real problems. Problems a lot of people struggle with. It really makes you relate to the characters.Hindley and Rory really are perfect for each other. Like two puzzle pieces that just fit. I really liked how real this book is. When dating we all go through some type of inner monologue about if we are good enough, smart enough, pretty enough. This story could be about anyone.Everything that Hindley and Rory, as well as the other characters, go through just makes this story so much better. So much real. Doesn't hurt it also brings skateboarding and the X Games out. I'm not one to write a lot of reviews (not that great at it lol) but overall I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone.
It was a good continuation of the series! Got to say some of the things that happened I didn't see coming and there were a lot of 'Oh s***' moments throughout the book! But overall it was a really good follow-up, and I still love Rory & Hindley! As for what ever happened with Axel I was curious as to what would have happened after the fall out with him, but he just disappeared! I was surprised by Geneva's turn about in the end! But I guess life and karma finally caught up to her in the end! I really can't wait till book 3, to see what happens!Till next time ~ Sweets Books
Loved this book!!. The first book was wonderful and I couldn't wait to get this book as see how Hindley and Rory's story ended. And boy did I love the ending!!! HEA....yay!!!!! Loved, loved this series and can't wait to read the next book. Love Rory and Hindley!! Lots of things come to light in this book and you love them even more. You also get a true feeling about her sister too. She is not so nice!!! You will not be disappointed reading this book!!!Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!Happy reading!!!
Both these books had sucked me in from the beginning,,, both Rory and Hindley's lives being as real as real can get. Sometimes brining tears rolling out my eyes, I absolutely love to read a book with back and forth banter between couples. If I can laugh reading silently then there is nothing that can make me put the book down. Almost taking a sick day from work would be worth it to finish each book.Thank youThe way the writer has wrote these books will keep you focused as you are right there with them.
Kay, If you read your reviews (most authors do, but some choose not to), just know that I loved this story so much. At the end of book one I downloaded book 2 and continued the story of Rory Gregor and Hindley Hagan. It was funny in places, heartbreaking in others. The story's plot flowed perfectly and I just loved it.*warm fuzzies here*
Oh my. Stop the presses! Wonderful story. Loved it! I absolutely loved Hindley. I want to take her in my arms and never let her go. She broke my heart. I wanted to help her. I'm so glad Rory was there. I loved this story. I could not put it down. I am getting ready to start Moto Boy (since I read the excerpt). Gotta pull you in someway. I would recommend. And bring some tissues. You'll need them.
